Avon Dam - Completed in 1927, Avon Dam is the third largest dam in Australia. Located in the Sydney Suburbs. Height of 72 meters with water capacities up to 140 square kilometers. With specifications that area, I wonder if Avon Dam managed to form a broad river with 1.055 acres and a capacity of up to 214.360 megaliter. Looking at it, we can conclude that the dam is sized slightly larger than the Nepean Dam.

Avon Dam collects water from the river Cataract, Cordeaux, Avon and Nepean River itself. All four are upstream of the Hawkesbury-Nepean river. Once dammed here, the water is then used as power plants and most other supplies are distributed to supply for local people who live in the Macarthur and Illawarra area, the Wollondilly Shire, and metropolitan Sydney.

Stunning panoramic view will be presented to those who visit the Avon Dam. One side is a panoramic view of the dam is blue water, calm, and without waves. While on the other hand, visitors can see the beauty of green hills and shady trees dominated many other wonderful plants. Visitors can picnic and BBQ meal with the family. Facility is complete here, ranging from public toilets, picnic places, drinking water, until the play areas for children.
